On the sacred heart (aka cabbage soup) diet, a lot of vegetables need to be consumed. To save yourself from getting bored, you need to mix it up and find different ways to serve it during your seven day cleanse to keep things tolerable. Here’s a vegetable stir fry that you can do on any day that you’re allowed to eat veggies as well as that can be mixed with your rice on the day you’re to eat brown rice.
-A small amount of cooking spray or extra virgin olive oil
-julienned vegetables of any variety including multicolored peppers, broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, baby corn, snow peas and anything else you like.
Stir fry on medium-high heat stirring constantly. If they seem a bit dry, feel free to put in a little bit of brewed tea or broth from your sacred heart soup to loosen it up. In fact, you can make your soup from this way by sauteeing your vegetables first and then adding in your broth and other ingredients for something a bit different.
In terms of spices…this is where the flavours can reallly come in to play. Try some lemon pepper seasoning and a dash of lemon juice or Mrs. Dash or ClubHouse Greek Spice. Some fresh garlic or any other spices you desire can also be used. Hot seasoning can even increase your metabolism as well.
