Homemade V-8 type juices can be wonderfully healthy and drinking them during the Cabbage Soup / Sacred Heart diet is a great idea for keeping you full and detoxifying your body. Fresh vegetables and fruits are best and organic is best if possible.
The more fruits and vegetables you eat ANYTIME the better. During your SH detox diet you should eat loads of veggies and fruits to help you detox and help with the weight loss process. Here’s a recipe for an adapted fresh Sacred Heart Juice. You might choose to play with the quantities until you get it to your preferred taste. (Guidelines are listed)
Homemade Sacred Heart Juice
-LOTS of Fresh Tomatoes
-Head of lettuce chopped finely
-fresh grated garlic
-1 finely chopped rainbow sweet bell peppers in your colour preference (orange is my fave!)
- 1 bag of Spinach
- about 1/4 head of cabbage
-1 big beet
-about 2 lbs of celery
-Either a dash McCormack Spicy Old Bay Seasoning OR Mott’s Clamatto caesar salt
-about 1/4 cup sugar is recommended but because the SHS diet is sugar free if you can live without, better for you. We don’t recommend sugar substitutes.
-onions
-lemon juice
-Worcestershire sauce
Juice the above and blend and drink the same day you make if possible. Store refrigerated and use up quickly to maximise taste and health benefits.
